Well, the Coin Toss Data application has been running for well over a month now, so it's now possible to get a look at what the random coin tosses have been generating and identify the most frequent random coin toss sequence for September of 2026.

Hexagram 54 changing line 4 into transformed hexagram 15

A Very interesting combination, to say the least. In looking at this sequence, it's clearly apparent that the oracle is giving us some feedback and insight on the upcoming elections. If you've been following the news cycle over the past few weeks, it's blatantly obvious that the 2026 midterms dominate the narrative by creeping into every issue. It's like a whirlwind, and even issues or subjects that wouldn't normally be political footballs (data centers, AI, cost of living, etc.) have all been drawn into this election cyclone, and now they all have a political angle attached to them. Thirty years ago, spin applied to the big issues. Now everything has a spin. Call it micro spins.

Initial Hexagram 54 - The Marrying Maiden

So this hexagram symbolizes a concubine, which in essence could be seen as representing us, the electorate. While technically we don't partake in polygamy here in the US (maybe in Utah!), symbolically the concubine in this hex is symbolic for being put into a secondary or lesser position, which I'd say perfectly describes the average citizen/voter. Being put into a position you really don't want to be in. Something you didn't plan, anticipate or strive for, but disappointment abounds. I bet there are many people out there who find themselves in this position as we head into the fall of 2026. With massive layoffs in multiple sectors, continuing inflation, gas prices and a recessionary economy that nobody in authority will admit to, it's easy to relate to the lowly concubine. Under the thumb of circumstances and a fate that just seemed to creep up on us. We were promised a golden age, but we are stuck with an economy that currently only streams one message: "The beatings will continue until morale improves!" 

Cleary writes on hex 54 in his version of the I Ching, "The intercourse of yin and yang is not proper." True and false have intertwined, and the energy feels off, artificial. Again, this comes back to the midterms. The polling: does it seem solid, or is something off? The AI debate: are we all gonna die, or are hidden deals being made in the back room to dictate policy for the next decade?

The gist of it all is this. There is but a mere hair's length of space that separates the true and the false. People become confused. The artificial assumes the real, and the real seems artificial. Many forces (big tech, media, govt/industrial complexes) want to shape how you view all this via influence and distraction. It's up to us as individuals to find the truth and determine what is real and fake, right and wrong. This is the message I'm getting from Hexagram 54, The Marrying Maiden, for September of 2026.

Changing Line 4

This is all about taking a time-out to refine your perspective. By time-out, I don't mean taking an extended sabbatical; it's more of a strategic pause. Like a fourth-quarter NFL time-out with six minutes on the clock to formulate the play that gets you over the goal line for the win. Zen clutch time, where we tap into that flow, the zone energy, and pull out a win, be it big or just enough to get you to next Tuesday. Looking back on the past month, I return to Cleary: “The wrong time means not acting until the time is right. Getting rid of the human mentality. Proper timing being the restoration of the Tao.  Returning Right from wrong awaiting the proper time. “

Again, the oracle is just giving off 2026 midterm election vibes. Besides it being pumpkin spice latte season, this year we get to celebrate the October Surprise. Lucky us! Remember those October surprises of yesteryear? You know, digging up Brett Kavanaugh's high school keg party fun. Yeah, that kind of stuff. October is when we get our Hunter Biden laptops, our Access Hollywood tapes. Psyops galore and closets raided for skeletons. Again I refer back to Thomas Cleary: "Returning right from wrong, awaiting the proper time." Depending on which political filter you use to consume info, it's all relative, but timing is everything when it comes to moving the masses. This is my take on Line 4 as we roll into October.

This line represents buying time to implement strategy. Like using the rook on the chessboard to block the queen, allowing a situation to evolve and develop. The ball is in play and the court is heating up. All possibilities must be considered before taking action. Options must be weighed. Back to the election. Beware of false promises from both sides. A $5K check for your vote from one side, or free groceries, rent and health care from the other. Is there any foundation to these promises/false desires? You have to weigh your options.

Transformed Hexagram 19

This is a very interesting hexagram, given that it evolved via the randomness of the September coin tosses. It signals a time when favorable conditions are approaching. Just when you thought this storm wouldn't let up, the Universe's version of Doppler AccuWeather radar gives us this forecast. Potential good times are coming, not here yet but advancing. Making its approach, and who better to champion this expectant good fortune than our bought-and-sold, paid-off politicians! Again, the oracle is hinting at the midterms. Another theme of Hexagram 19 is overseeing. Earth above a lake is a symbol of watching over, overseeing, keeping an eye on us (with Flock cameras!). And though we don't have kings and monarchies (Trump, Pelosi, Soros) watching over us, the people assigned to oversee this expectant prosperous period are politicians running for office in October of 2026. However, there is a hitch…

So here is the hitch that comes along with Hexagram 19, Overseeing. According to the ancient text, "Great success ends in the eighth month; misfortune comes." The eighth month on that calendar falls in the harvest season, in which we now reside. What is this misfortune? Is it an October surprise? Or is the misfortune the obvious truth we see in the media every waking moment of the day? A sad and mediocre lot of candidates on both sides of the aisle who will get elected in November to oversee our collective fate for the next two years. Don't forget to vote, because like a broken record… this is the most important election ever! Either way, and no matter what happens in November, this is a sign of hope, and though things may look dark at the present time, things can and do have a way of working out. So here's to Hexagram 19 and its approach to the coming favorable conditions.
