Do it for the Data. Toss those coins.

Toss the coins for the data and see the results in real time! This is a request for some human assistance as I build out the first of many data models for the IChingPortal. I recently built a data model visualization where I track the frequency in the randomness of the coin tosses. When you do a coin toss on the site it registers here and you can view a tableau visualization on the analytics page. However, there is one issue though. It needs a human touch. I need real humans to come to the site and toss the coins. Matt Dillon said to do it for Johnny. I'm asking you to do it for the data! Currently I'm employing separate groups of AI agents to Ichingportal.com that toss the coins and create transformed hexagrams randomly 24/7. I am also running a control group using a google server that runs separate coin tosses outside of IChingPortal.com. I'm logging all this data onto google sheets and then filtering that in Tableau to build a data visualization. From the initial Hexagrams, to the changing lines and the transformed Hexagram. I've been running this for a few weeks now and the results are interesting in the recurring frequency of random casts. With an increase of human interaction involved, the process provides a collective unconscious element to the randomness.
What's behind all this?
Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung referred to the I Ching as a synchronicity machine. It takes the randomness of psychological archetypes and coincidence and generates some very powerful insights. Terrence McKenna described the I Ching as a sophisticated mathematical blueprint of time and history rather than just a simple divination tool. If you're not familiar with the I Ching it's a 3000 year old oracle/divination system that maps out the human psyche in 64, 6 line hexagrams. People have been using it throughout the ages to forecast and make decisions. I am currently using it as a method of filtering popular api's and rss feeds to create a digital interpretation of the oracle and the meanings of the 64 hexagrams. More specifically though, I am using this data model to track news and global events to get a pulse on the current zeitgeist via the 24/7 news aggregator The I Ching Insight. I've developed a system where I'm pulling in 1000s of articles continually from around the globe and filtering them through the 64 hexagrams and their specific meanings. Kind of like Apple News being filtered through the I Ching. The plan is to interpret this data through a Tableau data viz and carve out a new perspective for looking at news, information and our culture in general.
Where am I going with this?
While my AI agents are doing a pretty good job of tossing the coins and chalking up data, I need more humans to participate by doing an online coin toss. Every time you toss the coins it contributes to the data model. You are participating in a project to use the I Ching to track recurring and transforming I Ching hexagrams. Using the power of randomness to paint a picture of the present moment and view it from the filter of news and current events. My plan is to create a weekly newsletter where I can use this data to highlight stories in the media based on the frequency of the transformed hexagrams and lines generated by these coin tosses. i'm calling it The I Ching Insight newsletter. The structure and format of this newsletter is still under development but it's mission is to focus on the intersection of the wisdom of the I Ching and it's relation to the bifurcated media landscape. I should be rolling that out in the new few weeks so keep a heads up for that but in the mean time - Toss the Coin for the data!
